MONROE
MONROE
Monroe is somewhere between 6-7 years of age. His owner
dumped him at a shelter out in the mountains and left no
information on this wonderful fellow. CCDAL has attempted
to gather information on Monroe through the vets in the
area where he was dumped, but he was not on their radar
screens. Because of this Monroe has been given a thorough
physical exam and has an excellent record of health. Monroe
is neutered, heartworm negative, lyme disease negative,
and UTD on all shots. He has recently received a Lyme
vaccine to prevent that disease, and he is on heartworm
preventative.
Monroe is very much a gentle teddy bear. He has beautiful
markings and big soft brown eyes that express his love and
tender nature. We named him Monroe after one of our early
Virginia Presidents because Monroe is a man of the people!
He has tremendous canine diplomacy skills in that he gets
along with all other dogs and cats, even if they are
strangers. When it comes to people, Monroe is the perfect
dog for small children and for folks that have very nice
homes this boy is not destructive, is house-trained,
crate-trained, and even picks up his own toys rather than
leaving them around!
Monroe is very intelligent he knows some basic obedience
and seeks to please. He is easy on a lead and takes
his walking cues from whomever handles him. This boy is
a joy at the vet hospital. He immediately will get on the
levitating scale and then sit or lie down the perfect
patient! He likes to kiss the doctor while having his exam.
Monroe is currently being boarded (due to lack of foster
homes) and the kennel staff brag on him all the time.
Monroe is not simply a Dal that has potential this
gentleman has the maturity, loyalty, and beauty we all
have come to love in this breed. Whoever is so blessed
to choose Monroe will find their life truly enriched by
his companionship.
